The brass band of the Brandenburg Police Department under the leadership of Christian Köhler counts 45 musicians who put on more than 200 performances a year. These concerts appeal to large sectors of the population with their rich cultural and educational program. Housed in Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg, the brass band of the Brandenburg Police Department is currently one of the most sought after brass bands of all police departments in the country.
Its musicians are comfortable performing anything from large symphonies to jazz pieces to chamber music – their versatility allows them to maintain age-old musical traditions while also developing modern musical styles. Brass music has a 500-year-old history on Prussian soil. It is incumbent on us to maintain, foster, and cultivate this tradition.
